Madrid Design Festival is an international festival that aims to make Madrid the capital of design and place it in a privileged position in the international context. It was conceived and created by La Fábrica and under the direction of Álvaro Matías, has had, since its inception, the collaboration of an advisory committee made up of independent experts and specialists in different fields. The annual event is held during February and covers all design disciplines, from architecture to graphic design, communication, and interior design, hybridizing all of them in a contemporary and innovative format. It is a long-term project that is present throughout the city, becoming the best tool for democratizing design and transmitting the importance of a discipline that transforms our lives daily. Attracting national and international audiences to its exhibition and training activities, the Madrid Design Festival proposes a cross-cutting program that showcases proposals from leading designers and at the same time supports young professionals.
